Bruce Springsteens Greatest Hits tager førertrøjen for bedst solgte plade til årets Record Store Day.
733.000 vinylplader blev solgt i USA i forbindelse med Record Store Day (den 11. udgave af vinylbutikkernes uafhængighedsdag) i tidsrummet den 21. til 26. april, skriver Billboard. Årets salg viste sig at slå rekord for Record Store Day og var samtidig det trejdestørste salg af vinyludgivelser på én uge, siden analysefirmaet Nielsen Music begyndte at registrere pladesalg i 1991.
Bestselleren til årets festligheder var den røde udgave af Bruce Springsteens Greatest Hits-album. Listen efterfølges af henholdsvis David Bowies Welcome to the Blackout (Live London ’78) og Neil Youngs Roxy: Tonight's the Night Live.

På single-fronten toppes listen af Led Zeppelins 7-tommer "Friends"/"Rock and Roll" hvilket også markerer bandets første Record Store Day-udgivelse. Andenpladsen går til David Bowies "Let’s Dance" (Full Length Demo) på 12-tommer vinyl, hvor trejdepladsen går til Sufjan Stevens’ 10-tommer 'translucent vinyl' af "Mystery of Love".
Det samlede albumsalg voksede med 17 procent i ugen, der endte 26. april, hvilket er det største ugentlige stigning i albumsalg i 2018. 25 procent af alle albums solgt i ugen, der endte den 26. april, blev solgt i de uafhængige pladebutikker. Det totale albumsalg for de uafhængige pladebutikker steg med 200 procent i den uge, der endte den 26. april.
